Monthly Hydrological Bulletin, September 2023

The rainfall recorded during the previous months induced a rise in the water level over the entire catchments of the Niger basin with some flash floods in some parts of the Lower Niger sub-basin.

Also, during this month of September 2023, the Black flood coming from the Upper Basin and the main tributary Bani is mitigated by the Inner Niger Delta before continuing its progression at the Middle Niger over the next months.

The filling of the Sélingué water reservoirs in Mali and Kainji in Nigeria are at a very good filling rate which is respectively 86.18% and 90.33% as of September 30, 2023.
