The hydrological situation during the month of May 2024 was characterized by the continued decline in flows in all compartments of the Niger Basin without exceeding the permissible minimum flows. It is the end of hydrological year in the Basin.

The reservoirs water from the Sélingué in Mali and Kainji in Nigeria are gradually been released to support the downstream flows.
