Monthly Hydrological Bulletin, January 2023

The hydrological situation during the month of January 2023 was characterized by the continuation of low flow at the Upper Niger and Lower Niger. While at the Inner Delta and Middle Niger sub-basins, we are witnessing respectively a situation of decline and flood due to the influence of the Guinean flood.

The Sélingué dams in Mali and Kainji in Nigeria have gradually started releasing water to support downstream flows.
