Monthly hydrological bulletin. July 2021

This month of July was marked by a low hydraulicity in the Upper Niger and Inner Delta sub-basins due to the low rainfall recorded. While very high runoff coefficients were recorded in the sub-basins of the Middle Niger at the Niamey station and the Lower Niger at the Lokoja station.

The reservoir filling of Sélingué Dam in Mali and Kainji Dam in Nigeria has started respectively during the second and the third decade.

The water levels during this month of July were favorable for the proper functioning of the dewatering facilities intended to meet the water needs of the populations and crops along the river.
