WARNING BULETIN-NIAMEY 27/08/2017

The local flooding of the Niger River in the Middle Niger was manifested during the last 7 days at the Niamey station by a rise of 1.4 m in the water level, particularly the last two days where the water level rose from 461 m to 524 m. That is a rise of 63 cm. The forecast for the next 3 days and the observations show that the water level in Niamey will approach the yellow warning level at the Niamey station (530 m) but will not be reached. The situation of the river is monitored by the Observatory of the Niger basin and information will be communicated as and when.
